Our twenty-three hour, almost 6,000 mile journey to Poland began with scattered steps  — a delayed plane in Fresno, causing us to miss our flight in San Francisco, rushing to another airline, learning that there had been a mistake and there are no seats  available, then at the last minutes given seats eighteen rows apart, eventually arriving in Krakow on time but with no luggage. The trip ended with a heart-pounding, sleep-depriving three-hour van ride to the town of Wisla. Trying to keep a heavenly perspective on these earthly realities is always a challenge.

But step by step we made it with thirty minutes to get ready for the Speakers’ Banquet. And what a meal  it was! Oh, not the buffet  – as great as it was. The real feast was the fellowship with many others who will join us for these days of teaching over 700 leaders from forty countries in Europe. As travel-weary as we are, our hearts are struck with the incredible responsibility and sincere gratefulness to be a part of this historic event.
The real journey – into the lives of these men and women of God – has just begun. We will face them step by step, holding tightly to God’s promise:
Psalm 32:8 “I will counsel you with my eye upon you. I will lead you in the way you should go.”
Lead on, O King Eternal!
